About Us

Karyn Jagoda is a licensed clinical social worker and family therapist.  Michael Olenick writes software; he invented the web-based pregnancy calendar and lots of other stuff too.  Karyn and Michael date.  They’re happy.  They’re also divorced, both ending long-term marriages.

Michael started iDivorce.com with a collaborative family law attorney to focus on the needs of pro se divorce litigants; the 50%+ of people who divorce without an attorney.  Michael holds a law degree he uses to write systems for lawyers, the former that he doesn’t often admit; the latter that he actually enjoys.

But it didn’t take long to realize the laws were different in every state, and the issues surrounding divorce a lot wider than preparing legal forms.

Lying in bed one morning Michael and Karyn realized most divorce sites stink.  Some are patronizing, others offer information that is factually incorrect or doesn’t present opposing viewpoints.  Many articles are poorly written, sourced by people with questionable credentials, cite opinion as fact, or do not make clear that in a legal context laws vary widely by state (and even by time in the same state), and in psychological circles multiple schools of thought exist.

We’re too old to have a kid — plus we already have a batch of them — so we had a website instead, idivorce.

Hi, I have developed an idea I had several years ago into a web-site that documents child support issues and communication between two former partners.

Both parties can log onto a secure database (separate passwords). They each leave entry’s that get a date stamp, their name and the message. The site also e-mails the other party that they have a message.

You cannot delete anything on the site, that creates a permanent record. The idea is that if they ever have to go to court, they can print out the database for their lawyer/judge to review. No more he said/she said arguments that can run up lawyer fees and court costs.

I was able to set up this web-site for the low monthly cost of $3.99 (compare that to one hour with a lawyer).

    The site is: http://www.childsupportreport.com

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

    Have a beautiful day!

    Larry
